New ID.4 Features in 2024
For the 2024 model year, Volkswagen has implemented several enhancements to the ID.4, focusing on improving performance and range for models equipped with the larger 77.0-kWh battery pack. These models now feature an upgraded electric motor, delivering increased power output of 282 horsepower in rear-wheel drive variants and up to 330 horsepower in all-wheel drive configurations.
Additionally, these enhancements have led to improvements in estimated EPA range, with an increase ranging between eight and sixteen miles, resulting in a range of 263 to 291 miles. Furthermore, the ID.4 sees the introduction of a new 12.9-inch infotainment display, backlit controls for volume and climate control, and a selection of fresh wheel designs.

Preformance, Range, and Charging
With its single rear-mounted motor, the ID.4 equipped with the smaller 58.0-kWh battery delivers 201 horsepower, while the top-of-the-line dual-motor, all-wheel-drive model featuring the larger 77.0-kWh battery boasts an impressive 330 horsepower. Regenerative braking aids in recapturing energy during deceleration. While the ID.4 may not handle as sharply as some other EVs, it compensates with a smooth and refined ride quality, complemented by a quiet cabin.
For the 2024 model year, models equipped with the 77.0-kWh battery pack enjoy increased EPA-estimated driving ranges. The all-wheel-drive version is rated at 263 miles, while the rear-wheel-drive version achieves an impressive 291 miles. Currently, there are no EPA estimates available for the ID.4's base 58.0-kWh battery pack.
Previously, it could power the single-motor rear-wheel-drive version for up to 209 miles between charges. The battery can be charged at home using 110- or 240-volt connections and is also compatible with DC fast-charging technology.
